The Foundation for the Future
The Foundation for the Future is an independent international nonprofit organization established in 2005. With a constant devotion to support the civil society initiatives in their efforts to promote democracy and human rights in the Broader MENA region, the Foundation for the Future remains profoundly committed to enhancing and strengthening Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in their efforts to advance democracy building and Human Rights protection.
The Foundation has developed since the launch of operations in 2007 a package that provides CSOs with the vital tools they need in order to play a more effective role in advancing human rights, democratic governance and freedom for all people in the region. The support package consists of the following three main activities:
- Grant-Making program is the core activity of the Foundation. It offers financial and technical support to CSOs based in the region as part of its efforts to foster the development of civil society. So far, the Foundation is funding 80 grants with the value of approximately US$15 million in 16 different BMENA countries
- Training and Capacity building; aims at enhancing the effectiveness of CSOs in areas relevant to the improvement of their performance and capability.
- Research and studies, where through offering an ad-hoc evidence-based research (ERB), the Foundation ensures better impact on the policy implementation of CSOs with enhanced effectiveness of their initiatives. In addition, EBR contributes to formulating the Foundation’s strategic plan for its work in the years ahead.
