Al Alfi Foundation for Human and Social Development

Full Members

Al Alfi Foundation (AAF) is an independent philanthropic establishment aimed at developing people with high capability to improve their surrounding social and economic environment in Egypt and the Arab World at large. AAF offers various opportunities to make a positive impact on people's lives through mobilizing human resources and bridging the gap between human potential and performance, particularly among youth in Egypt. AAF’s work is guided by two core principles, which are rooted in the values of Al Alfi family: sharing the responsibility in serving the best interest of our fellow human beings and our individual societies.

As AAF’s core program is for talented and gifted youth education, the Foundation established a center in partnership with Johns Hopkins University, Center for Talented Youth (CTY). Services include giftedness assessment, challenging enrichment opportunities, support services for talented and gifted students and their parents, online courses, and interactive summer on and off-site activities.

AAF also offers a number of scholarships with a focus on sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Among these offerings are post-graduate programs in business administration and biotechnology at the American University in Cairo (AUC), as well as under-graduate programs in the fields of engineering and nursing at the British University in Egypt (BUE). AAF fellows are the future leaders, scientists and entrepreneurs whom we regard as the catalysts to help in our region’s progress.
