The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) was founded in 1997 by a Royal Decree to combat cancer in Jordan and the Middle East region. It is a free-standing, independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization.

KHCF is the legal umbrella organization which provides fundraising and support for the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), the Foundation’s medical arm. The Foundation is run by a Board of Trustees comprised of a dedicated group of prominent volunteers and chaired by HRH Princess Ghida Talal.

The Director General of KHCF is HRH Princess Dina Mired and Dr. Mahmoud Sarhan is the Director General of KHCC.

KHCC is one of the most prominent comprehensive cancer centers in the Middle East that treats both adult and pediatric patients. KHCC treats over 3500 new cancer patients and over 100,000 outpatient visits from Jordan and the region each year.

KHCC has earned three international accreditations; two from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations including one as a disease-specific cancer center, and one from the College of American Pathologists.

These acknowledgements are valuable stamps of quality which validate the high standards of comprehensive care that KHCC offers.
