Criteria

The organizations that are eligible to become Full Members of the Forum are foundations that:

Are separately constituted, officially registered, non-profit entities .
Are based in and operate in the Arab region.
Have their own established and reliable source of income, usually but not exclusively from an endowment.
Have their own governing Board of Trustees, and/or Executive Committee and/or General Assembly (where applicable and according to the laws of respective country of registration).
Have a mission and objectives that are supporting public benefit and serve society at large.
Support second parties (e.g. associations, institutions, NGOs, individuals), or carry out operational programs at home and abroad.
Commit, in their practice, to AFF core values .
Acknowledge the need and the value of acting independently in their efforts to build a just and sustainable civil society.
Recognize the need for the efficient and effective use of resources. .
Commit to transparency, accountability and self-regulation, regularly publicize their annual financial reports.
Can prove track record of at least two years of active existence, supported by audited financial records.
Adhere to AFF Code of Practice .

The organizations that are eligible to become Associate Members of the Forum are organizations that:

Do not need to meet the Full Membership criteria.
Are based in and operate in the Arab region.
Associations, research institutes, universities and other interested parties based and operating in the Arab region.
Associate Members can upgrade their membership to Full Members by meeting all criteria .
